Stylish decor and great ambiance in the bar area.
The shower drain was clogged, leading to water pooling in the bathroom.

The hotel’s décor is stylish with a chic and welcoming atmosphere, and its location along the Quayside makes it easy for seniors to access local attractions while enjoying picturesque views of the bridges and river.
More comfortable seating in public areas would help.

Luxurious spa treatments, unique historical hotel atmosphere, impressive buffet options for Sunday meals
Room temperature control lacked precision!!! Severely limited kitchenware for tea and coffee made it feel bare-bones!!! Surprising inadequacies in bathroom amenities seemed out of place for this hotel's standing!!!

Just a reliable pick for resting in Newcastle upon Tyne with good value. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind during check-in. Make sure to ask for a room with better lighting if you want to see well in the bathroom.

missingWrote a review on 10 Septhistorical atmospherestylish decorcramped room
The hotel has an intriguing historical atmosphere, tucked into a charming old building with character. The bar area showcases stylish decor that makes for a great ambiance when grabbing a drink after a long day.
The Standard Double Room is cramped, feeling more like an afterthought than a real space. Navigating around the bed to reach the bathroom is challenging. The breakfast area is tight, often leading to awkward moments where guests nearly bump into each other, creating a frenetic start to the morning. Inconsistent cleanliness in certain areas was noticeable. some corners of the room and bathroom could use a thorough clean. Plus, the low lighting throughout the hotel tends to cast shadows on cleanliness and adds to a gloomy overall vibe.

Oh mate, the natural cut fries with your lunch were an absolute dream! The breakfast was fresh and made to order, keeping it proper tasty. Plus, the bar staff were bang on, serving up cheeky cocktails that hit the spot after a long day exploring the quayside.
But it was a right shame the restaurant menu felt like a downgrade, lacking the flair it used to have. We ended up legging it to a nearby place for a birthday meal, cos it just didn’t cut it. And no fridge in the room? Come on!

The dining experience was fantastic, with an impressive buffet and attentive service from the lovely staff like Tessie. I also loved the soothing head massage at the spa. it really helped me unwind after a busy day. The only minor hiccup was figuring out the extra charges for parking that added to our bill, so just be aware of that. 😊

The desserts were a sweet delight, like a kiss from the culinary gods! Plus, I met Teezy at breakfast—what a gem! The location by the river is a stunner, perfect for a stroll past stunning bridges and the Riverside market.
The dim lighting made our time feel a tad gloomy in the public areas, but at least the staff's warmth kept spirits bright!
